Reverend J.L. Vaughn Scholarship Program

To encourage youth to pursue higher learning beyond high school, the Reverend J. L. Vaughn Scholarship Program seeks to help our youth and their parents/guardians keep abreast of the required school curriculum, tests, and other criteria for admission to various colleges, technical schools, etc. Further, we engage Lovejoy donors and community partners in helping to provide scholarship funding through their donations for our young men and women as they matriculate at their various institutions of higher learning. Most importantly, we encourage our students to excel in their studies, to expand their vision, including giving back to their communities, and to work hard to reach their full potential.
Esther S. Vaughn Fine Arts Scholarship Program

The mission of this program is to provide scholarships giving youth the opportunity to receive vocal, choral, and instrumental music, as well as dance, theater, and visual arts training.

Lauryn Ellis first began in Esther Vaughn’s Fine Arts program while she was in third grade. She developed a passion for dance throughout the years and is now a student at Alabama State University majoring in dance. Her long-term goal is to become a professional dancer. During the early stages of her career, she wants to audition for dance roles, perform, and travel with a dance company. In the later stages of her career, she intends to establish her own dance studio and teach children to dance.
